DXF Rebar Concrete Takeoff
A Vercel-deployed construction takeoff tool that parses DXF rebar callouts, reads nested drawing text and exports reinforcement quantities, diameter summaries and projected concrete casting-area reports.
The problem
Rebar quantities and concrete casting areas are still frequently reconstructed from drawing notes into spreadsheets by hand.
What it does
Automates a first pass from DXF text to quantities, diameter summaries and exportable reports for technical review.
Who it is for
For construction companies, technical offices and site teams that need faster quantity checks from drawings without rebuilding every rebar note manually in spreadsheets.
Automatic rebar takeoff from DXF: steel schedules and concrete casting areas
Rebar quantities are still rebuilt by hand
Measuring the steel in a foundation or slab still means, in many offices, reading the drawing's bar callouts one by one — diameters, spacings, lengths, top and bottom reinforcement — and typing them into a spreadsheet. It is slow, error-prone, and worse when you have to verify someone else's takeoff: you must rebuild it entirely before you can challenge it.
What the tool does
DXF Rebar Concrete Takeoff reads the reinforcement callouts straight from the DXF file, including text nested inside blocks, and automatically produces reinforcement quantities, per-diameter summaries and an estimate of projected concrete casting areas. The result exports as a report ready for technical review. It is a rule-based first pass: the engineer goes from rebuilding the takeoff to reviewing it.
A typical example
A technical-office lead needs to check a foundation's steel takeoff against the designer's before closing a bid comparison. They upload the DXF and get the per-diameter rebar schedule — weight, lengths and counts — within minutes, comparing line by line instead of redoing everything in a spreadsheet.
